Sleeping in the closet

Lace was a quiet boy, he never said much in class and only spoke when spoken too. Even then he didn't say much. This was never a bother to him. A lack of friends was of no concern to Lace, his strange beauty and mysterious nature drew plenty of attention from other students. Which could be bothersome, but he found ways to avoid it. He went into the Gym storage room to eat lunch, one day however, he fell asleep. He fell into such a deep sleep that he slept through class and until the end of volley ball practice. He managed to hide from the sight of the club members, though not on purpose until someone came in and saw him.

Obviously, Lev was watching a volleyball match and was really eager about everything that was happening on the court. "We can watch together till then! If you have any questions about volleyball I'll gladly answer them!"

Lace quietly watched the game, watching them play curiously. He could probably do that. He was good at sports back in England but that was only because he had someone dragging him along through it all. "Why...do you like volleyball...?"

"Why...? Because it's great!" It was the first answer that came to Lev's mind. Actually, he didn't elaborate, just went back to watching.

That wasn't very elaborate. But Lace wasn't very elaborate either. He just watched in silence, noting what they were doing and who he found attractive. Lace quietly flipped himself over the couch and landed on his feet with ease before he went into the kitchen to take the roast out.

"How did you like it, Lace? Do you want to join our team?!" Lev didn't really care about his height, if he worked hard he could become a starter anyway. "It was a great match!"

Lace poked his head out from the kitchen to see what Lev was saying. "Join....?" They just met and now he wanted him to join his team? What a zealous guy. Didn't they already have a full team though? There was no place for Lace in it for sure.

"Yeah! You should try!!" Lev was already pretty excited about this, even though Lace didn't agree to join yet. "Third years will be gone soon and we'll need new members! Don't you want to try?"

"Alright...." It wasn't like he had anything better to do anyways, everyone was asleep in London anyways. He quietly started to cut the roast, the warm cooked meat's scent wafted into the air and filled the room as he made proper servings for them both.

"I'm going to love it, I know it already..." Lev sniffed and smiled at Lace, sitting by the table. "I'm so hungry...we can eat dinner at my place tomorrow if you want!"

Lace gazed at him and quietly hoped that Lev would like it as much as he thought he would. He nodded his head quietly, yeah, that sounded nice to do. To pass time with someone else instead of on his own.

He finished his helping and beat his personal record in speed eating, "It was delicious! You're a really good cook...! I can only cook, like...instant ramen!" Lev admitted, scratching the nape of his neck.

"I...can...help..." It would be easy to show him how to do it. It just took some effort and a cook book. He continued eating his meal before gazing at the left over meat.

"Would...you like another...?"

"You can? Really?! I'll teach you something too! Spiking maybe?" Lev offered and nodded when Lace asked if he wanted another helping. "Yes, please! It's really good!"

Lace took his plate and gave him another large helping before washing his dishes and starting to work on his bento box for tomorrow. He made two for him and for Lev before returning to Lev. "I....made another bento box for you...."

Lev's eyes started to shine when Lace showed him a bento made especially for him, "Y-You didn't have to...I'm touched! Truly touched!! This is ace bento, I can tell! You're the best...! What can I do for you? Just name the thing, I'll do it!"

Lace shook his head, "There's nothing you can do...." He replied, Lace didn't care. He just had left overs and Lev had been really welcoming of him so it seemed perfectly fine.

"Nothing I can do? NOTHING I CAN DO?" Lev's jaw dropped, but he regained his composure a little while after...sort of. "I CAN DO ANYTHING! JUST TELL ME, I'LL DO IT! I'M THE ACE!"

"I...don't have....anything...for you to do..." Lace looked at him with a surprised look. No one had ever been so adamant to do something. It wasn't anything big he had done for him.

"It's decided, then! I'm going to make you bento for the day after tomorrow!" Lev offered, even though his bento was rather simple. "What do you think?"

Lace quietly nodded his head, if that was what Lev wanted then Lace wouldn't stop him. They lived right next door after all.

"No need to be so shy, you know?" Lev patted him on the back and laughed. "No one made me bento before...I mean, my mom doesn't count."

Was this shyness...? Lace never thought about how he felt before. He had always dealt with things in his own way. "I'm....not shy...." He replied, gazing at the other taller boy.

"Aren't you really?" Lev asked, tapping his chin a few times. "For me you are. And really quiet. I'm really loud, on the other hand...just like I was loud for the both of us..."

Being loud for the both of them...? He was going to be loud for Lace? He looked surprised at him, no one had ever tried doing something like that before. "We're....very different...." He agreed, but that wasn't bad. That wasn't bad at all.

"Do you have plans for tomorrow after school? We could go somewhere! Or I can introduce you to my teammates! Or we can do anything you want, but I bet you're too shy to tell me what would that be...!" Lev laughed and ruffled Lace's hair.
