Lace was a quiet boy, he never said much in class and only spoke when spoken too. Even then he didn't say much. This was never a bother to him. A lack of friends was of no concern to Lace, his strange beauty and mysterious nature drew plenty of attention from other students. Which could be bothersome, but he found ways to avoid it. He went into the Gym storage room to eat lunch, one day however, he fell asleep. He fell into such a deep sleep that he slept through class and until the end of volley ball practice. He managed to hide from the sight of the club members, though not on purpose until someone came in and saw him.

"It... wasn't that bad...." It was bad but it could be worse. He awkwardly patted him on the head after getting up as high as he could to pet him. He wanted to comfort Lev but he never was in such situations like this.

"We'll....just...practice...." Lace offered.

"You'll...practice with me? Toss for me? I can't get Kenma to toss for me lately! He's so into those video games..." Lev rolled his eyes; volleyball was far more interesting than them. "I love you, Lace!!!"

He scooped him from the ground and twirled with him, laughing happily.

Lace was taken aback by Lev's sudden declaration and twirl. But he did nothing to stop it and allowed to be held like a doll. He rested his on his shoulder and remained silent for a moment before speaking up "I...love...you too..."

Lev just yelled on the spur of the moment, but when he heard Lace's answer he stopped halfway and blinked, "You...love me...too? Really? Lace?" He kept asking as his cheeks became hot.

"......? Did....I say it wrong...?" Lace asked, not understanding why Lev was responding differently when he responded. Was it not a good thing? Did Lace say it wrong?

"No...you said that you love me...if I didn't mishear, that is!" Lev watched him carefully, feeling his heart thumping in his chest. Lace looked serious, though...and it only made his heart beat faster.

Lace nodded his head when Lev repeated it, still in his arms and off the ground. Lace was silent for a moment before realizing something...."Did...you...not....mean it.....?"

Lev only laughed and kissed him on the cheek, "I meant it!! I can shout it out again if you don't believe me!" With that said, Lev pressed Lace to his chest and nuzzled into his hair.

Lace softly hugged him back, resting his cheek on his chest as he enjoyed the warmth that radiated off his chest. He felt perfectly satisfied with this position. "I'm.....glad...." He murmured softly as he looked up at him.

Lev didn't realize that hugging him here might look a bit awkward and even squeezed him harder, "Y-You know...!" It might have been the very first time Lev stuttered, "My parents and sister will be away next weekend..."

Lace didn't mind it, Lev was always like this. He loved picking up Lace and twirling around with him and Lace liked running up to him and having Lev catch him. They were both very affectionate, just in their own ways. Lace's was more subtle and Lev's was very obvious. "Do...you want....me....to cook for.....you while they're....gone...?"

"Y-Yeah!! That's totally what I had in mind...totally..." Lev could tell that the blush was covering not only his cheeks but also ears and neck at that point. "Cock for...COOK FOR ME!"

Lace didn't seem to catch what Lev was saying, probably due to him still learning Japanese. He noticed Lev looking rather red and reached up to touch his forehead, "Are....you alright....?"

"I am! I am in great shape! Just look, I can give you a piggy back ride all the way back home!" Lev offered, looking to the side. "And I'll be running all the time, too! I'm the ace after all..."

Lace patted Lev on the head before he started walking home with him back to the lofts only this time, he was holding his hand. It was dark enough to hide the small show of affection but that didn't matter. "We'll...keep practicing...."

"Thanks, Lace...it means a lot to me. So do...so do you," Lev whispered and leaned in, gazing into his eyes. "You know what? I've never kissed someone before...I wonder if I'm ace kisser as well."

Lace didn't realize that Lev would be so bold as to want to start kissing so soon. Lev did seem like the type to rush into things but to do it so quickly... "It's...not that easy..." Lace replied, Robin was really bad at first. It was kind of like kissing a dog.

"Really? You have done it already?" Lev raised his eyebrows and gasped, squeezing Lace's hand. "How do I practice kissing, though? I don't want to give you a kiss you wouldn't like..."

Lace nodded his head, "I've....had one boyfriend before you.... He decided...that breaking up would be better than long distance..." They were still very close friends however which was nice, it felt strange to hear about Robing flirting with girls however.

"......You practice with.....your partner...."

"How rude...!" Lev clenched his fist, angered by Lace's words. How could someone break up with Lace? What an idiot...

"With...my partner? But...that's you," Lev was just stating the obvious. "A-Are you really okay with me practicing on you? I can try kissing my reflection in the mirror or something stupid like that!"

Lace didn't see it as rude, Robin was like that. He didn't want to miss Lace the way a lover would and never be able to touch him for the next six years.

"Robin....wasn't a good kisser....at first.....either...." Lace replied, but they both got better when they started to learn what the other liked.

"Maybe we should just focus on volleyball practice," Lev stuttered and scratched the nape of his neck. The idea of kissing Lace became even more stressful when he realized that the other boy was much more experienced.

"You....don't want....to kiss me....?" Lace asked, looking a little hurt. Did Lev not find him desirable anymore because he had one had another...? He looked dejected, was that not a desirable trait...?

"I do! I really do...but what if I'm terrible at it? Even more terrible than your previous boyfriend..." Lev murmured and looked away. He wasn't sure why that was bothering him so much.

"The kiss...doesn't....matter...if it's...good or bad..." He murmured softly before he gazed up at him, "If....it's from someone you love.... then...I'll...love it either way...." He replied as he rested his head on his shoulder as they stopped in front of Lace's door.
